We were tired of cheap flannels that start looking shabby after a few washes, and are blown out and worn out after a few years.
Flannels started as a comfortable but hard working shirt for hardworking men. But, not all flannels are created equal, cheap fabrics and cost saving construction results in a poorly made, bad looking shirt.
We wanted to bring back the longevity of good flannel shirts in a modern fit and extra-mile attention to detail. Our fabrics, our fit, our buttons and real leather patch, make Distinctly Crafted Tobacco Flannels are second to none.
Polyester locks in odor and heat. Unlike poly, 100% cotton breathes and is anti-microbial. It keeps you cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. Its super soft and extremely durable. You don't even need a wash between wears, air it and wear it!
A sure fire way to spot a cheap flannel, the pattern at the side seams won't align. It takes extra care in the cutting and sewing to align the often complicated patterns on a flannel shirt. Call us OCD but we do it on the sides and the chest pockets!
We use double-folded "caballo" chain-stitched seams. Many modern factories don't do shirts like this, the machines are expensive and take more time and skill to operate, but it is the strongest, cleanest way to make a flannel to stand the test of time.
Your flannel shouldn't fit like a tablecloth from a church pic-nic. No more sagging arms or big boxy bodies, Our flannels are meant to be worn a little closer to the body, or over a light undershirt. They are sliming in the body and shoulder heavy.
Available in regular and tall* lengths
Trim, tailored body fit
Longer arms for better reach coverage
Wider neck for comfort while buttoned up
If you are between sizes or prefer a more relaxed fit, size up.

I’ve purchased a few items now from TMC, flannels, Archetype jeans, gloves, etc. these products are built SOLID. High quality with extreme comfort. Generally speaking they fit a little snug so if you’re on the fence go up a size. Overall great quality products!!!
Overall this is a great shirt. It’s clearly well made and crafted for many years of wear and even abuse. The largest drawback in my mind is the sizing. I typically wear a size large is a greasy and casual shirt with an nice loose but but not Blousy fit. I have a muscular build and ended up having to size up to and extra large to get the correct arm for but the chest is still tight when buttoned. I did not go to a 2xl for fear of arm lengths that would be too long in just to get a better chest fit. It appears that the cheat sizing needs to be adjusted to provide a comfortable for with a full range of motion on and off the bike. It’s not a cheap piece of gear/clothing so I would have expected a better overall fit given the price and reputation. Possibly a sizing tool.
They totally nailed it with this one. Much nicer than Imogen + Willie’s which is over 2x the cost. Definitely a staple everyone should have
Not like other flannels at all. Soft comfortable with a great fit. TMC knocked these out of the park!!
The craftsmanship, materials and attention to detail are top notch! Definitely a high quality product and the sale price couldn't be beat. Only complaint is on the fit. I'm an L in about every other brand and I don't prefer slim cuts. However, based on other reviews I ordered the XL and am glad I did. My only complaint is that even the XL is a bit short in both the sleeves and Torso. I think the extra 3" with the XL tall would be a bit too long for me, but another inch or so would do the trick. I go about 5'8", 200 lbs, with a 30" inseam so my torso is longer, but an XL in most other brands would be too long in the sleeve and torso. Per the instructions, I will only wash occasionally, and definitely will not be drying it. All this said, I'm already shopping for my next color in this flannel.
I rock two of Tobacco’s flannels plus I have their California Riding Shirt. It fits perfect right out the box, wears in perfect and looks terrific. People, usually other riders, stop me to ask if it’s Tobacco. I’ll wear their gear for life. Thanks guys.
I’m enjoying the ember flannel. Looks great, and feels soft with no itch on the skin.
