It's tough to find a nice pair of selvedge denim in black. Traditionally they're indigo so it was great to discover that Tobacco had these black selvedge jeans. Selvedge denim is what I love riding in for comfort and protection from the elements and stuff coming off the road as well as the heat of the engine. Plus it's breathable, which is a plus in the hot, humid summers where I ride these days. The added bonus of the kevlar lining on these is a bonus thing that I like to know is there, but I hope I never need to experience needing. The fit and finish on these Tobacco versions is great (I cut the legs a bit long to roll up a bit). They look good and feel good. Get yourself a pair.
I purchased these jeans with a brown belt. The quality is top notch and the customer service is even better. One thing to think about though is the weight of the fabric + the kevlar. They are not a summer riding jean, these will work in temps around 70 to low 80. I also say this because you are not meant to wash these a lot, you really don't wanna put these on in 85 -90 degrees, sweat your socks off then keep doing it for weeks on end. You're gonna smell. But, with that said I really don't think it would be possible to create a stylish, classic riding jean that performed any differently. If you want some silly venting, mesh, etc, these are not for you and it's not what Tobacco is about. Before I conclude I need to say this again, Tobacco has awesome customer service. I had to exchange these for a different size and honestly, they bent over backwards to make me happy. Thanks Tobacco & Specifically, thanks Michelle in customer service!
I own 2 pairs of the Caballo jeans and a pair of the Journeymen pants. Absolutely love them. When the Black Japanese black denim recently came back into stock, I ordered a pair. Simply WOW, first day wearing them and they already fit me like my own skin and I know they will just keep getting better from the other jeans that I own. The quality continues to be awesome, durable and just simply the way it should be. Expensive, yes - But a great example OF you get what you pay for and in in this case I fell like a lot more.
We're quick to complain when things just aren't right... Well I conversed with Jeremy at Tobacco Motowear regarding fitment and I received a level of customer service that was above and beyond. Three of my friends own Tobacco products and suggested that I check them out. Although it turned out that the fitment just wasn't right for me, I felt the need to share how much I appreciated all the extra effort to help try and get me into a pair of Tobacco Jeans . What I can say is my while friends can vouch for their quality products I can totally vouch for their customer service! Thanks Jeremy!
These are very comfortable and look unbelievably amazing. I even wear them while not riding, so that means I will wear them when it matters! These are worth the price, trust me! The quality and material of the Raw Denim is unreal, puts my Levi's to shame. The best jeans that I've ever owned. Love these! Only request, zipper in the crotch. Probably wouldn't be as durable I'm assuming. Love the kevlar lining!
I ride year round and average about 1250 miles a month and prefer to wearing my Tobacco jeans when I'm racking up the miles. These fit a little tighter than some of my other pants and the legs are a skinnier fit than I am used to but they are very comfortable on and off the bike. I was nice going to the dealer in Orlando and trying them on in person to get a better idea of the fit. Whether I'm riding all day or commuting to work these jeans are top notch on comfort while keeping me safe if things don't go as planned. Being a little taller I really like the length of the pants and appreciate having my boot, socks, and calf covered when I'm in a sitting position. The loop layout works nicely if you're concealed carrying, but my only gripe is the button fly if you're in a hurry. Great jeans and looking forward to getting some more and trying out the riding shirt next.
The jeans are great although having to have them tailored sucks. They also do not have enough belt loops on the back so my belt rides up on the back... especially when I am riding which is fairly annoying. They are comfortable and high quality however; and you could never tell they were kevlar lined. You can't feel the kevlar either when you wear them. They feel and look like a regular pair of nice jeans.
I could not believe a pair of jeans could fit so well. Very comfortable and well made. The left front pocket is very shallow or sown shut, but that is not a real issue with me. Not recommended for hot weather riding in temps. over 90 degrees. Looking forward to another pair in the near future.
Good jeans, Waist is perfect, pant legs are very tight and are not loosing up like I'm hoping. But I still have some time . will keep you informed
I chose to hem these after washing once per the instructions - came out great. Wearing for the last two months. I am very pleased with fit, comfort, and overall quality. Thankfully I have not used the protection provided, but knowing its there makes all the difference. Also, I ordered the wrong size initially, but exchanging was no problem. Thanks for a great product, Tobacco! -Rob
