Overall I am super happy with my tobacco jeans. I followed the recommendation of sizing up for a more relaxed fit. Normally I wear a size 32 waist and I sized up to a 34. They fit like a glove and have become my favorite pair. The only complaint I have is that the right leg twists to the left resulting in the side seams being positioned more front and back. It’s certainly not a deal-breaker, just a minor annoyance. If I had caught it before wearing them out of the house I would have tried to exchange them for a non “defective” pair, which I’m sure I would have been able to do. I haven’t had the opportunity to test the abrasion resistance, and I hope I don’t have to! If you are looking for a pair of protective riding jeans that look like regular jeans, you’ve found them.
These are very high quality jeans. I will order another pair a size up to have a more relaxed fit as you advised. I would offer a suggestion; offer a high-rise waist for those of us who are want-to-be cowboys. Great product!! Keep doing what you do.
Good— fit is great. Denim quality is high. Despite Kevlar, they are very comfortable. However, thrivet popped of the left pocket during the first time I wore them. Customer support remedied the problem, but for the price, I hope the quality control improves.
Great looking jeans with the protection i am looking for.
I recently lost weight (2 sizes) due to my wife slapping donuts out of my hand on a daily basis. The only downside was I have more energy to do more riding but my old pair of Archetypes were too big. I purchased a new pair to fit the "new" me and I'm back in action. There really isn't a better riders jean out there that hits all the marks in what I am looking for in a safe and "sexy" riders attire. Thanks TMC!! The quality of these jeans is amazing and the customer service is OUTSTANDING!!!! Sizing for jeans on the internet is hard, but Jeremy made it all worth it! He worked to make sure I was happy and worked to make sure I got what fit me. Highly recommend these pants and hope I don’t have to test them out, but I’m confident if I do I’ll be safer since I’ll be wearing them.
They felt pretty stiff when I first put them on. After one ride in hot weather, they felt like the best pair of jeans I own. My wife is a bit of a denim connoisseur and has encouraged me to wear all kinds of really expensive designer stuff over the years that I absolutely hated. She saw me wearing these and was instantly on board and very complimentary…now she wants some for herself. I’ve worn them while riding my FZ09 and my Wide Glide and the fit is dialed for both riding positions. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. Best riding pants I’ve ever had.
most kevlar jeans are uncomfortable - these can be worn all day the mesh lining helps a lot and oh by the way, they look great! worth every penny! favorite denims in my closet (washed in cold water twice on delicate cycle and let hang dry to soften them at first)
When my jeans arrived, of course I tried them on... They fit well and looked like JEANS not riding jeans. Being brand new they were stiff, but after one cold water wash cycle and a low heat dryer cycle they felt more like my favorite Levi's. To soften them even further I ran them through a no heat air tumble cycle in the dryer with about 36 tennis balls... Now they are my favorite jeans... to ride in & work in.
This is my 3rd pair of Tobacco jeans and have both the caballo and archetype. They break in better than any jeans I've ever owned. I wear them riding or casual, they are my go to jeans every day. Fits true to size, I'm 6-1, 225 and the 36inch waist breaks in perfect for me.
