Proudly, American Made

Raw Denim is in a class all it's own and you will love how it looks, feels and wears over time. These are not the disposable, cheap jeans you blow out and buy every six months. Tobaccos are built to last, our denim and American construction will take anything you can throw at it and look better as you break them in. Indigo goes with anything, these jeans can be worn out to a more formal gathering, but are most at home on the open road, hiding blood, sweat and grease and making sure you look great. Tobacco jeans are modeled after classic American brands with an updated slim-straight fit. Size up for a more relaxed look or size down for a skinnier profile. See the sizing guide for details.

Raw Denim

Maybe 10% of jeans are raw, meaning the denim has not been washed, distressed, or treated in any way after the dying and weaving process. Raw jeans will feel more rigid and crisp at first, after a few rides the denim softens as it starts to mold to your shape. As you break in raw denim it will crease, fade and shape to your body, becoming a perfectly fitted second skin completely unique to you.

I really wanted to like the Archetype Riding Jeans, and I might have had I been able to get the correct size. The first time I ordered, I went with my standard jean size which ended up being way too small. When I contacted Tobacco about returning, I was advised that if I exchanged for a different size they would throw in a belt for free (Tobacco Motorwear Company, Thu, Nov 18, 6:46 PM If you need 2 inches go 35, and if you need 3 go with the 36! I will throw in a free belt if we can get it to work! Deal?). So I paid the $20 shipping to return and this time followed the sizing chart on their website. The 2nd pair of jeans I received were way too big (not to mention they neglected to include the belt they promised), so it cost me another $20 to return the 2nd pair. Took a bit, but when they finally refunded my payment, they deducted their cost of shipping ($15.50), so all told I'm out somewhere in the range of $55 for doing business with this company. From what I've seen, the jeans are top notch, just be aware before doing business with them that the sizing is completely different than normal, there's no such thing as free shipping, and they don't honor their promises.

    Baggy Trousers

I can tell that the Architype jeans are good quality and would probably fit a more average sized person. But I am I'm not happy with the way they fit on me, being 6'-7" tall and somewhat skinny. There is more than enough length in the inseam, but I found them to be tight in the waist and super baggy in the legs. I ran them through the wash to try to get them to shrink, which helped a little. I took a ride with them but didn't like the way they flap in the wind. I feel like they look like 80's dad-jeans on me. If Tobacco offered skinny jeans in my size (40" waist, apparently), I would have purchased them instead.

Cali riding shirt & archetype jeans!

First, the California riding shirt. I’m 5’7 170lbs and athletic build. Size medium in black. A little snug in the forearms but fits perfect in torso. Material and overall aesthetic is amazing! YKK zippers are solid with a smooth pull, up & down. Snaps are solid as well. Once zipped and snapped, the shirt is super secure. Wind doesn’t penetrate the jacket too much so it keeps you warm. Interior design is nice! Archetype jeans are amazing! Nicest jeans I’ve over owned. 36” inseam was waaaaayyyy too long! After getting it tailored, the jeans fit amazing. True to size. Stitching and seams are flawless. This model has a zipper fly opposed to button fly. I much prefer a zipper fly. So these jeans are perfect.

    Great Jeans With One Flaw

Overall I am super happy with my tobacco jeans. I followed the recommendation of sizing up for a more relaxed fit. Normally I wear a size 32 waist and I sized up to a 34. They fit like a glove and have become my favorite pair. The only complaint I have is that the right leg twists to the left resulting in the side seams being positioned more front and back. It’s certainly not a deal-breaker, just a minor annoyance. If I had caught it before wearing them out of the house I would have tried to exchange them for a non “defective” pair, which I’m sure I would have been able to do. I haven’t had the opportunity to test the abrasion resistance, and I hope I don’t have to! If you are looking for a pair of protective riding jeans that look like regular jeans, you’ve found them.

    Great jeans!!!

These are very high quality jeans. I will order another pair a size up to have a more relaxed fit as you advised. I would offer a suggestion; offer a high-rise waist for those of us who are want-to-be cowboys. Great product!! Keep doing what you do.

    Solid, but…

Good— fit is great. Denim quality is high. Despite Kevlar, they are very comfortable. However, thrivet popped of the left pocket during the first time I wore them. Customer support remedied the problem, but for the price, I hope the quality control improves.

My 2nd pair of Archetype Jeans

I recently lost weight (2 sizes) due to my wife slapping donuts out of my hand on a daily basis. The only downside was I have more energy to do more riding but my old pair of Archetypes were too big. I purchased a new pair to fit the "new" me and I'm back in action. There really isn't a better riders jean out there that hits all the marks in what I am looking for in a safe and "sexy" riders attire. Thanks TMC!! Quality and customer service!

The quality of these jeans is amazing and the customer service is OUTSTANDING!!!! Sizing for jeans on the internet is hard, but Jeremy made it all worth it! He worked to make sure I was happy and worked to make sure I got what fit me. Highly recommend these pants and hope I don’t have to test them out, but I’m confident if I do I’ll be safer since I’ll be wearing them.
