Riding a motorcycle in LA is amazing. Besides the obvious thrill that accompanies cruising around on an engine with a seat and wheels, zipping through standstill traffic and parking in the tightest of spots makes life in this city a tad less insane. But, after a few close calls with less-than-alert drivers, I decided I wanted to up my safety game with some solid protective riding gear.
What I found was frustrating. Most riding gear falls into two categories: unflattering, inconvenient, high visibility gear that just doesn’t look right on a custom bobber, café racer, or vintage/retro cruiser; or, lifestyle motorcycle gear that looks ok but is outrageously expensive.
I took my problem to some friends in the LA fashion world and they agreed, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice style for safety. So we teamed up to design and produce great looking apparel for motorcyclists, that doesn’t look like “motorcycle apparel,” and Tobacco Motorwear Company was born.

We aren't into the "fast fashion" thing. We have always used the best materials available and make products that get better with age. From Cone Mills and Japanese Selvedge Denim to genuine Dupont Kevlar. We stand behind all of our products because we take the time to make them right.

This company exists because of our customers and we never forget it. In 2014 we launched our first moto-jeans on Kickstarter, 501 backers put their faith in us and brought Tobacco to life. We still recognize their support with the title BLDR (builder) and keep a dog tag with each of their names on a special board in our headquarters.
