I purchased the McCoy and the Bridger. Both have been great. However, the Bridger is definitely warmer, obviously. Both are great at keeping the elements out. But, they're not to be confused with highly technical gear, think Patagonia, Columbia etc. The Tobacco products won't keep you completely dry in constant rain. The canvas can only handle so much rain before it begins to lose it's waterproofing. Of course, the situations where you'd be in constant rain for a while, are likely few and far in between. I experienced the jackets list during 2+ hour hikes in constant rain, snow and slush. Overall, the fit for both are on point. I'm 5'9" tall and about 187lbs. Roughly a 31" waist with a 42" chest. The Bridger is a bit more snug than the McCoy, (since I removed all the D30 pads) this makes sense. I did layer with each jacket on, and both were flattering but not overly slim. For consideration, I had on thermals, an undershirt, Henley and flannel. Sometimes, I'd throw on a cardigan. All these items fit snug, but still allowed movement. I was in Iceland during their wintrt, this is why I had on so many layers. Overall, I'm pleased with both purchases. Drawbacks are clearing, re-waterproofing and long term weather resistance. I've yet to experience a fall... Hope this review helps!!
Great jacket and fit. Excellent craftsmanship, highly recommend for motorcycle riding.
Outstanding winter jacket! 1) great quality; heavy waxed canvas, quilted inner lining brass buttons and zippers. 2) Modern, minimal style that looks subtlety different from other jackets. 3) Warm without being bulky. The only thing I could knock on this coat is that it is hard to layer with the lining. The fit runs slim, so I’d recommend sizing up.
The most proper waxed canvas jacket i could have asked for for my first chill motorcycle jacket. Versatile for the outdoors and cooler nights, and even better for a leisurely cruise around southern california. This is a jacket i’ll absolutely pass to my son, and its not just because it’ll actually last long enough for my son to age into it, but because it has a timeless feel and appeal that i can’t wait for him to experience. No notes, im sold on the brand and this jacket was all it took
I’ve personally never been complimented on something I was wearing, everytime I wear the bridger jacket I have received a compliment. So style 100% quality 100%. 6’2 330lbs I ordered a 3XL fit is snug and I have to wear it open. I wish the size was more true to regular sizes thus why I give 4 stars. I have plenty of 2XL jackets that fit perfectly.
Im really pleased with this purchase, the quality of material and craftsmanship is very high and I really look forward to when its broken in. Pretty decent jacket to wear out even if not riding, too.
The Bridger Jacket style, attention to detail, comfort, and functionality make this easily the best riding jacket I have ever worn! I would absolutely highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a stylish and functional jacket. I even wear it when I’m out on the town when it’s a little chilly. I’ve gotten nothing but compliments. Well done, Tobacco Motorwear Company!
The jacket is beautiful and well made. I would have loved to keep the jacket but unfortunately, it was too short. I'm 6'5" 225 with a long athletic build and even with the XXL size the jacket was too short. I understand a lot of waxed canvas jackets are designed to be shorter but the jacket was shorter than my waist line when I wear a belt.
This jacket is worth every penny and some. I get compliments up the you know what! It's warm as heck, comfortable as it's gonna get and high end quality all the way around. My only one tiny issue are the pockets. None of the pockets can fit a normal size phone? I have tried a Samsung Galaxy and Iphone 13. The front pockets would of been ideal if they were long enough because you have the button to keep it enclosed while riding. But neither of the 4 pockets up front fit any phone? The pocket inside just barely fits. It would be perfect if the outer pockets were just a tad bit longer. Other than that, TMC always will be top quality motowear. And I have them all, Jeans, Jacket, riding shirts, belt.
Love the Bridger javket. Great quality, little short but not bad. Definitely recommend.
