Excellent! I currently wear a pair of tobacco boots, that I am extremely happy with. They are a perfect fit, very burly, but also flexible. I actually wear them to work. I also have a pair of Ironsides in blue. These jeans are the only jeans I wear when I’m on a motorcycle. I don’t even feel the protection and after about three months of wearing they have completely broken in and feel great. In the winter time, I have enough room to put a base layer on to keep warm. Perfect jeans, I also just recently purchased a new jacket. I should probably leave a separate review. The McCoy jacket is incredible. It’s warm, well ventilated super comfortable. This jacket has replaced my leather. I will wear nothing else but tobacco.
For starters, this jacket looks really really cool. My wife absolutely loves it on me! The waxed canvas definitely has a break in period and has a funny feel to it if you're not used to this kind of material. Every component of this jacket it top notch quality. Finally, someone actually put some thought into a design that work for you! Really clever and subtle things keep surprising me. Very useful pockets, zippers, buttons and more are all well thought out and well placed. I already have a set of D30 armor, and it all fits very nicely and is very comfortable with a full set of pads installed. I was really worried about this before buying because my other jacket(s) are horribly uncomfortable with the armor installed. My only gripe that I can come up with is the range of motion with the armor installed. I ride a Sportster and the bars are stock and are not raised at all but with the shoulder pads in, my motion is noticably strained. Not sure if there's a design improvement that can be made or not, so I don't ride with the shoulder pads in. Not really super happy about riding less protected, but I'll take range of motion for now. The only reason I'm comfortable with this is because, in the event of a wreck, I know the fabric would hold up and protect from getting any ort of road rash. As far as sizing goes, I'm 6' 200lbs. I ordered a large and it fits really well. The sleeve length is great for wearing, and I bought the sleeve extensions (haven't installed them yet). Sleeve length with armor is a bit tighter and rides the wrists more than without. Admittedly, this might just be a sizing issue, but the jacket fits so well without the armor that I don't want to attempt an exchange. This is a great jacket. If you're on the fence about it, please take this review and recommendation from a highly satisfied customer to grab one of your own. The customer service is great, they were prompt with answering a handful of questions I had prior to purchase. I want to post that here because it's really easy for companies these days to get away with garbage service. I know these guys have my back, pun intended! Okay, I can keep going, but it's best if you just add to cart and see for yourself. I was waiting for my McCoy with great espectations but the sizing has dissapointed me to the point I`m considering selling my McCoy to invest in other jacket. I ordered an M size that fits like an "S", I didn`t try to change my jacket because I live in Europe and the shipping and taxes are very expensive.
This jacket is really nice. I was surprised I had to go up a size to 3 XL but it is the right size and their customer service really helped me make sure. They are excellent at replying through email and extremely helpful. I am very happy with my purchase and already decided to get the shirt jac. The McCoy's venting helps but I think it will shine more when it gets cooler.
I ride year round in Oregon and was wanting The McCoy to serve me in the colder months. One of the great benefits of TMC gear is that it functions well as riding gear and you can jump off the bike, go to work or downtown and look great. I was keeping my heavy leather jacket on the bike at the airport and had another jacket for work. No more of the with The McCoy! The functionality is great. The adjustments on the side allow for slim riders to cinch it in and larger riders to modify accordingly. The zippers cuffs are nice to keep the cold air out and work to let in some air when it get warm. I was skeptical about the small vents; however, they work great. After riding on the coast in the cool mornings, the vents came in handy in the afternoon as I entered the valley temperatures. While the weather has been warmer here in the PNW, I have hit rain a couple of times and the jacket did its job as the water simply beaded right off. If it was hard rain, I'd likely still use my rain gear. The armor is easy to take in and out (e.g. you don't need to turn it inside out to install and remove) and doesn't add too much bulk. Small touches, like the vents and magnetic neck strap are classic TMC and demonstrate the company's attention to detail. Finally, TMC charges a premium for a product that always exceeds my expectations. When you combine the quality of the product, the protection it provides, along with it's functionality, TMC is a great value.
I've had the jacket for a couple of months now and used it quite a lot so thought it was time for a review. First, I have to agree with what the others here have already written; it's a great quality jacket with lots of nice details like the soft lining, good pockets and zippers. Love the look of the (brown) canvas and can't wait to see it age! My negative points are that the arms feels a little snug so probably won't be able to wear any thicker garments underneath for colder days. After one ride in the rain I got wet on my arms and shoulders but hopefully a bit more wax will fix that. Also some of the buttons are a little hard to close with gloves on, but it's all minor details. On sizing I'm 1,8m and 84kg and size L fits me nice, only around the waist it's quite wide and would prefer a more tailored fit. All in all I highly recommend this jacket!
Received my McCoy jacket today after maybe a month of anxiously waiting. Quality is just as advertised, great in every way. Lots of attention to detail, stitching is perfect. I opted for the sleeve extensions, and they're a great option. I wear a tall in everything, and with the extensions they sleeves go all the way to my wrist. As far as sizing goes, I'm 6'4" with a fairly athletic build. XL is a near perfect fit. The only place the jacket is slitghtly snug is through the arms. Not really a problem though, feels just right. Body could maybe be an inch longer on me, but still not a problem. Really looks like a jacket that was custom made for me. The waxed cotton feels substantial with out being bulky. I was a little worried about an oily odor, but there is none. Doesn't feel oily either. Now for the looks. I have several textile and leather jackets for riding. They scream, "I rode my motorcycle today". And that's fine. But I wanted a jacket that I could wear whenever, not just while riding. The McCoy is perfect. I didn't think that it would be nearly as cool as the pictures and videos, but guess what, it's even better. Looks like it's straight out of a movie. Watch the videos, the McCoy jacket is exactly as advertised. Every feature is there. Yes it's pricey, but cheaper than some brands, and looks like it will last a lifetime.
It took a while to get it, but it was absolutely worth. The quality is great and the little details are amazing. About the size I agree with the former Reviewers. - Sleeves should be slightly wider (I ordered XL instead of L I normaly have) - the little belts should be slightly longer to get the jacket tighter around the chest But under the bottom line, a great product which replaces my old jacket and will stay for years.
