I purchased a medium Defiant hoodie along with the D30 armor and it was a little too snug so I reached out to customer support. They did a great job of asking the right questions and then offering a great suggestion…go up a size. The new large fits perfectly with the D30 armor installed and I cannot wait to ride once our snow melts!
Fits true to size, have been wearing in the New York City winter and it feels great. Armor fits in great. On colder days I have a lighter but very solid piece I throw over it. Would recommend sizing up if you want to layer underneath.
The build quality and type of material is great for what it’s made for! The only reason it got knocked down a couple stars is because of the long sleeves to wide open wrists. I sold this to a friend as the sleeve being so wide at the bottom and too long meant that material would bunch between my hands and handlebars.
I had high hopes for this hoodie, because I'm familiar with Tobacco, and they even managed to exceed them. Wearing this over either a wind-block mid-layer or a heated base layer makes it a perfect riding jacket down to the high 30's. The D3O armor is also imperceptible enough that you can't really tell it's an armored hoodie. The only drawback is the logo on the forearm, that's kind of garish, but not a huge deal.
