The California Riding Shirt is a perfect balance of functionality and style. The shell is crafted from premium, American made, 12oz raw canvas. We love the minimalist, rustic style you can wear anywhere and how it looks with your Tobaccos. Canvas also breathes extremely well to keep you cool when riding in the sun, while still giving you a windbreak for those cooler night rides. The California riding shirt is a rougher, tougher alternative to your old flannel shirt or just rolling in a T-shirt. Inspired by an old prison shirt, this lightweight jacket is made right here in California by skilled tradesmen and will last a very long time. Complete with a bandana back liner and moisture wicking sleeve liners you will love every mile you put on it.
Onward to Greatness ▸The tough canvas shell is your first line of defense against harsh conditions but if you ever make unintentional contact with the pavement you will be glad the California Riding shirt has you covered where you need it most with our protective lining from guys that make bullet proof vests.¬† You know the stuff! It's the toughest fiber in the world and is resistant to abrasion, puncture and heat. Protect yourself from nasty, painful road rash with this great looking over-shirt.

I bought this shirt to wear something lighter than my current one so I don't sweat. It's definitely an improvement over my biker coat. So far, I don't have any complaints on this shirt. Tobacco, thanks for taking some of the heat off me.
Extremely comfortable. Great zip/snap closure system. Feels bomber and protective. All around great piece.
This is my second one and its a great riding shirt but tailoring job was shoddy with loose threads all over and had snipped threads from other products as well. Still keeping it but puts the amazing brand in poor light.
To start with, I signed up for the “free gloves” only to find out the coupon is only good for your first order, and they only had one color glove available in one size… small. So I emailed and sent customer service requests 6 times asking if there would soon be a restock or if it the value could be applied to other gloves. A month and a half later… still no response; however they have emailed and texted me a few advertisements a day… interesting priorities. Bang for the buck: Despite that, I decided to try out one of these shirts. I do my best to buy everything I can American made, this was my initial attraction to Tobacco Motorwear. Origin, gatorz, RDSH, if I can find a company made in America, I do my best to support them. With that said, this company’s pricing doesn’t make sense to me. A $400 (after tax and shipping) riding shirt that doesn’t even give the option to put armor on the back (so I don’t have to wear my vest if I don’t want to) is wild. There are some inexpensive features that are offered elsewhere that would be too easy to add the option for at this price. The fit: I am 6’2” 195lb with an athletic build. Large usually fits me nice, but sometimes can be a little snug depending on the company. So I went with an XL. Once I put it on I was absolutely swimming in it. It looked ridiculous. Like it was my grandfathers jacket and I was still a kid. My mistake, I’ll just exchange it for a large. I have to pay for the return shipping for the exchange… hmm. Well It was my mistake, so fine, but again I think of the cost of the shirt. When the large arrives to me, I can barely touch my right hand to the back of my left shoulder (a self hug, if you will). The fit is awful. Impossible to wear anything underneath it. The arms are tight. The back is tight. This is a MASSIVE difference from the XL. Even to use the pockets is wildly difficult because they are far enough back that the sleeves stop my arms from going far enough to use the pocket in the first place. Again I think about the price. The Look: This is where I will give kudos. The shirt looks sharp, the lining looks nice. The inside pockets are big. I like the buttons so I can get more airflow on warm days. All in all I think the jacket is just very “whatever”. When you add the cost, the fit, and the lack of customer service, I just fail to see the worth. I’m glad I didn’t try to buy the jeans, because having these same types of issues for that price would drive me mad. TLDR: Not worth the cost. God help you if you’re between sizes, because the difference is wild. The fit is awful. The design feels lazy (compared to other similar riding shirts I own). Not worth the cost. Good luck getting a timely response from customer service (if at all).
I love this shirt. It’s just great. Really nice quality materials and it fits great. Easy to wear after riding just hanging out. May consider buying a black one too.
Great shirt, love the fit and styling!
Shirt seems like ok quality, but for the price, I think you could get a better bang for your buck elsewhere. Size chart also seems to be off or the shirt seems to be a slim fit.
Almost perfect! I’m 5’ll” and 280lbs. I have a large chest. However, I normally wear XXL shirts and Jackets. I’ve found with some riding jackets I feel more comfortable in a 3XL. Because I like to layer when I ride. I ordered the 3XL California Riding shirt thinking it would be big on me. I was mistaken. The 3XL fits like a 2XL. I pulled out a couple similar riding shirts in 2XL and tried them on after trying on this shirt and they fit the same. Everything else about this shirt is spot on. The style, quality, material all top shelf. I just wish the fit was correct. If you’re a bigger guy, this may not be a comfortable fit. If I had tried this on in a store, I wouldn’t have spent $350 on it. I now have to decide if I’ll return it or try and slim down a bit.
Fits like a glove
