Like many, I was hesitant to purchase one of these shirts due to the cost. Indeed, I have spent less on some jackets. However, I made an appointment to see these things in person. The quality of this riding shirt was an eye opener. The exemplary fit and finish are exactly what folks hope for when buying something made in America. It is not big and bulky like my jackets, and I have been wearing it all summer in California. It is nice enough to wear as a casual overshirt or light jacket even when not on a bike. On a side note, I have a friend that went down while wearing his. The shirt fully protected him, although his helmet was shot and his toes smashed under his foot peg. Great work Tobacco peeps! I will be buying more of your products.
I have been a customer of Tobacco Motorwear Company (TMC) since October of 2020. I continue to be a customer today because of the Top Quality apparel which I am sure will be passed down to the next generation. I have purchased a few Riding jeans, Jackets, vests and they are very comfortable to wear on long journeys without sacrificing safety. I am also asked quite often "who am I wearing" when I stop at various Harley Davidson dealerships (even by the employees) and other stops on my journeys. I am looking forward to a continued relationship with TMC as I anticipate future products will continue to hold the same top quality standards which I personally believe can't be beat. In a nutshell, the more you experience TMC Motorwear, the more you become a fan.
It holds really good, quality
Thick, durable canvas. Understated and good looking. Fits true to size. I'm 6'3 280, 2Xl in most things and this 2Xl fits well with a little extra room. If I were to want to layer a thick hoody, would need a 3xl. But if it's that cold, I'm wearing something else, anyways.
I got this jacket in July of 2019 and it is by far the best jacket I have ever owned. I don't spend a lot of money on clothes ( more on bikes and cars ) but this jacket was worth every penny. I wear it daily here in San Francisco. It's perfect for when it's a cold ride home from the shop at night and some how is nice and cool when the Sun is shining.
I love this shirt/jacket. It looks like a lot of my non-moto gear. Fit is good, I'm 5'7 and about 180#. My only complaint is that with the elbow armor in place, my arms are pretty snug in the sleeves. I would love the sleeve radius to be an inch or so more accommodating those of us who are more short and thick rather than tall and lean.
California riding shirt is a nearly perfect piece for your riding pleasure. This will protect you from the elements without being bulky or heavy, but also make you believe in craftsmanship again, and I'd like to thank personally whoever designed those massive inner pockets. The snap buttons and zippers are high Sierra camping grade quality - simple, sturdy, and efficient. Do I sound like I love this thing? Good. I do.
I bought this for the husband. He said it is a comfortable, not too hot, looks cool riding shirt. Rider is 6'3 180 pounds and large fits perfectly. If he had biceps like The Rock the sleeves would be tight with the armor in the elbows, as a regular fit person they are fine. Elbow armor is not discernible, very sleek styling. Fabric is dense and will certainly last for years. Husband says feels solid but not heavy. Worth the money. The husband's safety matters to me so the Kevlar is Very Important, but I'll admit to being impressed with his style as he rolled up the drive in this riding shirt on his Ducati Scrambler. I think I'll get myself one of the women's riding shirts.
Amazing purchase and perfect for a light top layer that looks great. The material feels very study and I now understand what it meant by protective layer in the description. 10/10 would recommend.
I recently moved back to Phoenix and knew my heavier waxed cotton riding jacket would be far too hot to ride with this summer, so I picked up the California riding shirt based on the reviews here. I couldn't be happier. It breaths really well and it's very comfortable to wear. I'll wear this off the bike as well. It's well made with HUGE inner pockets for whatever you need to bring with you. The elbow armor isn't noticeable on the silhouette of the jacket. Tobacco was kind enough to throw in some Roper Gloves with my purchase and I really like those too. Over all 5 stars for the product and the company that makes it. I'm saving up now for a pair a riding jeans.
