I'm new to these armor pants. I've seen some wearing them and they make you look like robo cop. I wear chaps. I tried out some other pants. And my experience with them was awful. I ended up getting my money back. And I didn't ask for it they gave it back. I wanted the pants. And I never ever got them. I order tobacco on Thursday and to my amazement I was wearing them Saturday. On a 300 mile ride. Now I've seen tons of remarks on the cost of these pants. I have mine on. After I ordered them. I got several emails. Some funny and crazy emails. Just like the video of the older thick fella riding in his briefs. When I saw that I thought that is me. Out of the box I knew they was going to fit. I have a body just like the guy riding in his briefs. They fit great. And loose fitting.I ordered a 40 and I wear 38.The length is crazy long but I m kinda glad now. Cause if I ordered the 30 the pants would of rose up over my boots. They do look and feel like Levi's 501. The back pockets are deep and my wallet don't fall out sitting on bike. Putting them on for me felt as if I always had them. They are made great. They are made in the USA. The ones I talked to. they believe in their product. The founder of this company even send out emails to us. The videos really cool. Great job breaking the world record. Made in the USA. And the fact that these pants made a sexy fat man sexier. Is a big plus. Yes they are quite a few coins. To me they are totally worth it. Live life like the gate just opened
Just when you thought it couldn't get any easier to get laid for riding, these guys drop the most stylish protective wear you can get. They look, and feel great. I've used em for about 500 miles now, and let me tell you, these pants are awesome. The only downside is I'm probably going to have to get a vasectomy because I can't afford all of the child support these will inevitably cost me.
These pants are killer. When it comes to riding equipment, I learned early on that you really DO 'get what you pay for'. I was blowing crotches out of other brands of riding jeans all year (i literally tore a pair on the first attempt to swing a leg over my bike) until I finally bought a pair of Tobaccos IRONSIDES. I wore them casually everyday to see if they're comfy for just hanging out in (they are!), and have put down about 600 miles in the saddle and they aren't showing any signs of wear at all. Workpersonship and materials look top notch, I really do trust them to protect my ass should it meet the tarmac one day. I'm glad I got them, just wished I got them sooner. PLUS : The tag says MADE IN THE USA, which is a huge plus. NOTE: It seems 36 is the standard leg length, so get ready to have them altered if you're a stout build like myself and don't like big cuffs. That shouldn't set you back more then $30-$40 tho.
Okay, the Ironsides are cool so far. But, the blonde demonstrating Kevlar slide could have sold me pretty much anything and you wouldn't hear much complaining from me. Jeans, what? oh right, ....Only worn twice. New bike, so hoping not to put to test too much. And I'm pleased. Purchase was a little glitchy, I thought, as the free armor offer didn't arrive with the jeans. But, evidently there was a trick I missed in ordering. Honestly it was hard enough to select free shipping that I missed the add free armor, I guess. I'm still confused about that but Andrew was on it and his team made good super fast. No knocks, really. Andrew has been super responsive and open to suggestions. I'm a 34 Jean and bought 34, but wondered what armor would do to fit. No problem. I see a 6'1 guy mention the 36 inseam issue and I'm only 5'9 so, yeah, it's a little adjustment for a 30 inseam to get the roll up looking right. If your not intrinsically cool, it takes a minute to say, okay, yeah, I'm okay with that. Dunno, east coast maybe I'm too uptight. Anyways, love the jeans. Love the company. I'll keep buying and talking up.
Recently purchased the Ironside riding jeans. Tobacco was kind enough to include the armor. Yeah, yeah....armor is for babies. But also for guys that don't want any road rash. Very comfortable jeans. Feels like they'll still be nice in warmer weather due to air flow. Only downside is the 36 length. I'm 6'1 and have to fold these a couple times. Would still recommend to anyone looking for the most comfortable riding jeans in town.
My name is Tony and I purchased these Ironsides in size 32x36 as my first pair of riding jeans. As a new rider I did a ton of research and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The fit and finish is perfect and they aren't only my riding jeans, but my favorite (and most comfortable) jeans I own. I'm 6'1, 165 lbs and the fit is great. The length coming in only 36 I have been rolling the jeans over my boots and haven't decided yet if I am going to get them hemmed, cut, or just continue to roll them. In addition, please note that with the armor the jeans bunch up behind the knee. Not uncomfortable at all, just good to know. Thank you tobacco, you have a new customer for your products and I can't wait to purchase my next pair.
It's hard to overstate the quality and construction of these riding pants/jeans but that's well documented and spot on! These look and wear as good or better than my favorite pair of go to jeans...with the armor, it's practically invisible and definitely unnoticeable. I wear Levi's 513 and 511 size 31 waist, the Ironsides 31 waist fits exactly the same. They are awesome!
They are awesome fit is perfect and great features. Rode in 25 degree weather with just thermals and was fine cuts wind something awesome worth the money for sure.
I initially purchased the Carbon riding shirt for something stylish and protective to wear in the hot NJ summer 80+ NJ humidity down to 58 deg. instead of taking my chances with just a t shirt or wearing a jacket that was way to bulky and heavy. After a few wears I just absolutely love the shirt and went ahead and purchased another Folsom Blue shirt. It offers protection with the added elbow guards and I don't look like iron man when I go to work or out to eat on my bike. The shirts have become my new outerwear even when I am not on the bike and have gotten plenty of compliments. They are well made and I think will last for many years. I also purchased the skinny jeans due to my complete lack of a formidable ass and they fit great, are extremely comfortable with the stretchiness and offer a higher level of protection than my standard jeans. I now can bike to work and don't have to change out of my protective riding pants. I can wear the black jeans at work and no one notices they are "motorcycle jeans or pants". I own Harley's and BMW's and I don't have to select Harley looking or BMW looking clothes depending on the bike I am riding ...Tobacco wear goes both ways and looks good (and protects)on any bike i am on! Jeremy at Tobacco is a super knowledgeable friendly guy to deal with when making any purchase at all there. I called there to buy a gallon of milk and wound up with 2 riding shirts and a pair of riding jeans! Great Stuff!!
Just wanted to reach out and say that your jeans are awesome! I couldn't believe, right out of the box, how comfortable these are. The attention to detail on how these jeans are made is second to none. I have ALWAYS been a firm believer in supporting the independent and companies that make their product here in the USA. That was one of the most important reasons why I chose your brand. Thank you for NOT selling out overseas, it means a lot to me and I'm sure other hardworking Americans. I will always spend more money to get a better product made here than that cheap Chinese shirt. Keep up the good work, making quality riding gear and giving work on our soil. I just put in another order and can't wait to get it!
