I just got the Kevlar lined California riding shirt in the mail and I was super impressed. It’s not bulky and looks great too…I’ve gotten multiple compliments from it (no joke). It was pricier than normal shirts but after riding with it I can tell it’s worth it. I may have to buy a pair of jeans now. -Teddy
Overall I am super happy with my tobacco jeans. I followed the recommendation of sizing up for a more relaxed fit. Normally I wear a size 32 waist and I sized up to a 34. They fit like a glove and have become my favorite pair. The only complaint I have is that the right leg twists to the left resulting in the side seams being positioned more front and back. It’s certainly not a deal-breaker, just a minor annoyance. If I had caught it before wearing them out of the house I would have tried to exchange them for a non “defective” pair, which I’m sure I would have been able to do. I haven’t had the opportunity to test the abrasion resistance, and I hope I don’t have to! If you are looking for a pair of protective riding jeans that look like regular jeans, you’ve found them.
I waited a month to review these gloves because I really wanted to leave my honest opinion. Just this last weekend, the string snapped off. I’ve only worn them like 10 times so I’m very disappointed. I could tell immediately that the strings were going to be a problem because they looked so frail. Another issue with the strings were the little balls on the ends, this one time on a ride, the ball got stuck between my clutch and grip making me think I broke my clutch and wasn’t able to pull it in. I think these would be cool summer gloves but the strings need to be fixed.
Supple deerskin provides coverage yet still allows good connection with controls. Definitely worth grabbing a pair!
Excellent pair of gloves. Great fit, enough protection without a great lightweight feel, and plenty of compliments...
I’m a huge fan of the Ropers for riding around town! They’re relatively easy to take on and off, and feel secure when riding. Right out of the box they feel great; they’re loads more comfortable than my broken in pair of Icon Pursuits (which are more armored and I use for longer trips/highway riding). I love how the Ropers look, I love it a lot. If you’ve got extra long fingies like me you’ll be well acquainted with the seams on the fingertips, but you’re probably used to that by now. Highly recommend.
I have the black and now the yellow ropers. Wear them in temps 90+ degrees in NJ humidity and somehow my hands aren’t hot and sweaty. My first pair of black ropers are about 6mos old and I wear them at least 3 times a week for a couple of hours and they are broken in but no wear and tear whatsoever. The more you wear them the better they feel. Temps at night are now in the high 50’s lower 60’s and they still do the job. Protection yet I’m not thinking about my hands being too sweaty or too cold ! Love these gloves. I probably have at least 10 pairs of different Harley gloves, fingerless, leather, stretchy, combinations of leather and stretchy that the Ropers totally replaced. Until the temps drop way down and I find i need something warmer I will be wearing my Ropers! Awesome!!
The gear is great looks good and feels comfortable.
Comfortable!!!!! I wear them around town on the bike.
Are these gloves armored and suitable for track day? No! But they’re great for cruising around town. Super soft, conforms easily to the hand, great dexterity and sense of touch… plus the simple pull strap makes tightening and loosening the wrist stupid easy.
