• 100% Double Brushed CottonWe were tired of cheap flannels that start looking shabby after a few washes, and are blown out and worn out after a few years.
Flannels started as a comfortable but hard working shirt for hardworking men. But, not all flannels are created equal, cheap fabrics and cost saving construction results in a poorly made, bad looking shirt.
We wanted to bring back the longevity of good flannel shirts in a modern fit and extra-mile attention to detail. Our fabrics, our fit, our buttons and real leather patch, make Distinctly Crafted Tobacco Flannels are second to none.
Polyester locks in odor and heat. Unlike poly, 100% cotton breathes and is anti-microbial. It keeps you cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. Its super soft and extremely durable. You don't even need a wash between wears, air it and wear it!
A sure fire way to spot a cheap flannel, the pattern at the side seams won't align. It takes extra care in the cutting and sewing to align the often complicated patterns on a flannel shirt. Call us OCD but we do it on the sides and the chest pockets!
We use double-folded "caballo" chain-stitched seams. Many modern factories don't do shirts like this, the machines are expensive and take more time and skill to operate, but it is the strongest, cleanest way to make a flannel to stand the test of time.
Your flannel shouldn't fit like a tablecloth from a church pic-nic. No more sagging arms or big boxy bodies, Our flannels are meant to be worn a little closer to the body, or over a light undershirt. They are slimming in the body and shoulder heavy.
Available in regular and tall* lengths
Trim, tailored body fit
Longer arms for better reach coverage
Wider neck for comfort while buttoned up
If you are between sizes or prefer a more relaxed fit, size up.

Im only 6’ tall and the shirt is a bit short so i think the sizes are off a bit
Not opening till Christmas
Overall this is a great shirt. It’s clearly well made and crafted for many years of wear and even abuse. The largest drawback in my mind is the sizing. I typically wear a size large is a greasy and casual shirt with an nice loose but but not Blousy fit. I have a muscular build and ended up having to size up to and extra large to get the correct arm for but the chest is still tight when buttoned. I did not go to a 2xl for fear of arm lengths that would be too long in just to get a better chest fit. It appears that the cheat sizing needs to be adjusted to provide a comfortable for with a full range of motion on and off the bike. It’s not a cheap piece of gear/clothing so I would have expected a better overall fit given the price and reputation. Possibly a sizing tool.
The online pics do not do the Serape Flannel justice. It is much nicer when you see and feel it in person. I will say that it is also thicker than I thought it would be, so this is not a hot day shirt. But come Fall and Winter, it will absolutely be my go-to shirt for sure. The colors and attention to detail are very high. Extremely happy with my purchase.
Fit was true for both me and wife.We got Cali riding shirts.very comfortable.....not stiff at all.Got the armor...can't even tell it's in .Don't even think about it....just buy it !
Tobacco is the real deal! Got my flannel on a special and should have ordered 3! I love the look but the comfort is perfect! Light while on and soft, with just the right amount of warmth. Length is spot on and the cut is athletic without being constructive. Size up! I’m an XL normally but needed an 2XL. Tobacco’s customer service was stellar in handling this.
Warm, comfortable, perfect fit. Immediately part of my everyday gear.
The Serape is exactly how it is described and I love the warmth and feel of the inner brushed cotton. Fits through chest and arms as I expected from a mens fit shirt so that’s fine. But keep in mind this shirt tapers down at the bottom rather then just straight down. This makes it difficult to button the last button or to wear it untucked if you have curvy hips! Would love one of these flannels in a women’s fit or a straight fit. As I love Tobacco’s quality and attention to detail!
I bought the Sarape Blue flannel. Let me first say that the quality and look of the material is absolutely fabulous. Within an hour of wearing it two women told me they loved my shirt. Do I recommend it? Definitely! That said, read the description carefully. My previous Tobacco orders were size 2XL. I didn’t read the details (I was drawn to the photos) because my previous orders fit with a little extra spare room so I figured this would be the same. Unlike the others, this is a fitted shirt (it actually says that in the description). It’s a little more snug and the hem line is a little shorter so if your a husky guy you might want to size up. Also if you’re more than 6ft tall you might want the to order the “tall” size. I’m 6 ft 225 and the 2XL fits a just little snug. I’m mostly wearing this shirt unbuttoned with a t-shirt so it’s not a problem but just food for thought.
Another awesome piece from Tobacco. Fit and feel are spot on, and design is top notch. Do yourself a favor and get two or three, and save their shipping department a little time. You will definitely want more than one
