The vest fits great and its a great compliment to my other tobaccomotorwear gear. I swear you guys are going to make me go broke. I have my eye on a few more items and will make a few purchases soon. The only thing you dont have that I think would be a great seller, would be a hoodie to go along with the vest. I think it would be very cool and if the arms are kevlar lined. It would be a great addition to the amazing products that you already offer. Keep up the great work. Cedric
Excellent. I’m 6’3” 280 lbs and the 2XL fits great. Could fit a hoody underneath but nothing bulky. It’s well designed, functional, durable and the back protector fits nicely. Could be a smidge longer but other than that it’s awesome.
I received the brown Wasteland vest last July and immediately paired it with the Moss Canvas California Riding Shirt 2.0 to add some back protection on my rides. It has quickly become a staple of my riding gear and my everyday wardrobe for chilly San Francisco days. On the practical side: the slot for the D3O back armor is well-positioned so that I feel wholly protected and comfortable. The large pocket on the inside-left of the vest is big enough to hold a wallet, phone, and any other random objects. The smaller inside-left pocket is good for key storage or loose change. The chest pocket on the outer-left of the vest is also a surprisingly roomy storage space. On the aesthetic side: The makers were mindful enough to tailor the proportions of the back insert so that the armor stays in place. It also does not look like there is armor inside, so you won't be walking around with a huge bulge on your back. The fit is true to size based on their chart. I am 5'6", 145 lbs with a broader chest. The small vest fits without need for adjustment, but there are well-placed buttons on the sides if you need it. Adding the California Riding Shirt 2.0 under it makes for a snug fit, but doesn't compromise the range of motion. The color is a deep brown that nicely complements the moss green of the California Riding Shirt. I'm sure it would also look awesome paired with the black, herringbone, or Territory riding shirts if you are looking to add this vest to your wardrobe. Something to keep in mind: the inside lining is not as durable as the outside canvas material. Constant wear has made some of the stuffing come out. Not a big deal, but it is more noticeable than before. I am not particularly worried about the effects on its protective capabilities, but it may be an aesthetic issue for some. This small detail in no way affects my five-star rating and enthusiastic recommendation for the Wasteland Vest!
Lovin' this vest so much it's become my essential motowear! Perfect for the all around riding weather in the Bay Area!
It was expensive so I went back and forth on it...eventually I pulled the trigger and am very happy i did. I ordered the brown vest in large (I'm 5'8 165) it fit great - enough to wear a bulky sweatshirt under but tight enough to look good with tshirt too. Sometimes you get what you pay for and this is quality stuff. Need to get some discounts and I'll be back for a shirt...just not sure if maybe medium will be better vs the large...we shall see!
Received my brown vest and could not believe the quality of the vest. TMC does not cut corners when producing their products. I am an extremely a happy customer. Haven't felt like this for a product in a very long time. Absolutely nothing I can complain about at all. Fit was perfect and can use for riding and or casual wear. I loved the vest so much that I wanted to order another one in black. TMC was sold out on my size. But when a product like this comes around, you use all resources to find one. And that I did through one of their other dealers. When I received my black vest, I was like a kid in a candy store. You can immediately feel the comfort. Knowing how much safer it made me feel was even better. Now I have both blk & brown as my daily rotation wear. You truly have to see and feel to believe it. I saw that the TMC California riding shirt was available in blk in my size and jumped on that as well. That will be arriving this week and MAN AM I EXCITED! I had an email conversation with Jeremy and what a freakn' pleasant chat with these guys! You talk about all around satisfaction!! I am such a satisfied customer and support this company 100%, Thank you TMC for developing such an all around tremendous product and thinking about the safety of the riders. Looking forward for more.
The vest is sturday as hell, the canvas and color are what I wanted exactly, and it fits perfectly. I was NOT happy when I first put it on because it feels/looks short in the front. I almost exchanged it but I figured I had it so I threw it on and got on the bike and the genius of the design was immediately presented. It's shorter in the front so it doesn't fold up and bunch up on the bike! It truly is designed with motorcycle riders in mind. Also I kicked myself for not getting the backplate with it but I ordered it afterward. I got some help from the email guy to get the right size for the vest but it would have been slick to get them in the same box to use them immediately.
I bought this to add an extra level of protection to my California riding shirt. (I am uncomfortable just wearing that while going 65 (approximately, sort of) down the freeway.) I use the California riding shirt because its very cool in hot weather, and I was hoping the vest would still have good airflow. The good: It adds that protection (it feels like there may be an aramid fiber layer, but even if not, its still extra canvas). It has a back pad pocket. Its comfortable and well cut for riding. The waxed canvas is very water resistant. Riding through a torrential rainstorm will still get you soaked but it will take longer. The bad, and why it doesn't get four stars: Its lined with quilted satin. The satin blocks a lot of the airflow, and the quilting adds a bit of heat. Not much, but enough to makes it hotter than it needs to be in 85 deg weather. I recognize that the waxed canvas blocks a lot of airflow, but the satin and quilting block even more. Also, if you manage to soak it through because you've ridden through a rainstorm, it takes significantly longer to dry than if it were lined in something else. If it were lined in the same fabric as the California shirt, this would get a full 5 stars. As it is, it only gets 4 stars. Still a fantastic piece of gear. While the prices are higher here than they may be for other equivalent gear, the prices are worth it. Well made gear made in house by a small company is a good thing, even if the prices are a little higher.
Got it out for a ride today and my buddy swiped it. I think that's another order coming your way. Vest is sick guys.
just got mine in and its everything i was hoping for. fit quality and style all top notch.
