I have tried many types of boots, been disappointed, sold them, tried again, same thing, but these boots!? They are the best quality I have ever had in my hands! I feel I have found the boots to accommodate me the rest of my life. And I have done product development for a living, a have education in various crafts as wood and metal works, so I have an idea of what is quality and what is not, and these shoes take the top position right away. I am truly amazed that you keep you level of quality continuously this high. Thank you for that. It's what we need product makers to do al lot more to reduce waste and garbage, so from the heart of a product man - thank you, and I look forward to enjoy hopefully a lot more great products from you guys!
I waited to write this review until I really got to wear them a lot. Gotta say, 10/10. Exceeded expectations. I commute on my bike and have spent as many miles riding as I have walking in these shoes and they are perfect. I get a lot of compliments on them, especially when I'm out, even when they've been through heavy rain and mud. I wear these even when I don't ride now. I definitely recommend putting wax or a rain repellent on them regularly. One month of daily wear and motorcycle commuting through some awful roads, they still look brand new. If the fit is tight, remove the insole. My shoe size is a 10.5 and I got a 10.5. After removing the insole, I got a perfect fit that is kind of roomy now after breaking them in. Love these things!
I initially bought brown Maverick boots. Love em, comfy & look great. Broke down & bought black boots. They look even better! Had a ton of compliments/questions already. Havent had them long but they seem to wear a bit better than brown ones. Love all the products these guys make. Quality excellent!
I have had my eye on Tobacco for a long time, I finally decided to make my first purchase the Maverick Boots. The quality of the boots is really nice, the price is substantial but I was ok with that for a top quality boot with actual protection. The toe is more round than it appears in the pictures, or maybe the size has an effect on the roundness but I didn't like that part. In my case I always wear a size 10.5 in Timberland boots or others so I ordered 10.5. As others mentioned I couldn't even get my foot in with the insole in place, I took out the insole and my foot is swimming around. The insole is nice quality so clearly I would want it in place. Here's where my gripe starts, I contacted Tobacco via phone and received replies via text before and after I ordered. Maybe I am old school but I like to speak to someone live. I could have possibly avoided this sizing issue I they picked up the phone. Everyone raves about the customer service so I was surprised I couldn't get anyone on the phone. Next since mine didn't fit I lost my original shipping of $18, plus the cost to send them back on my dime $26 since I am across the country. So now I am out $44 to try on a pair of boots. That's particularly annoying since I ordered my normal size and they were ridiculously tight and they recommend removing the insole which is a strange option. :( I know I could have them replaced for the next size and wouldn't pay the shipping to me the second time, but honestly not interested in potentially losing more money. It seems to me if every other retailer can do free shipping, or $7.99 pre-paid label for returns like Revzilla and others Tobacco can do the same. If they had these options I would probably have exchanged and probably be wearing the boots.
I really wanted to love these boots. They're fine for riding, but just plain uncomfortable to walk in, work in, or any sort of daily activity off the bike. Like any pair of boots I expected a break-in period and I wore them daily for a couple months hoping this would be the case. The fit is seemingly fine, but the fact is they've become MORE uncomfortable as the leather softens and the ankle guards feel more prominent and have started digging into my ankles regardless of how tight or loose I lace. I actually end up with bruised feet/ankles if I try to wear these all day. For that reason I usually don't even bother with these anymore, I grab my "regular" (non-moto specific) leather boots 9 times out of 10 and enjoy being able to dismount and walk around without my feet cringing in pain. Everyone's feet are different and may have different experiences but these just don't work for me. As far as quality, they're fine for a mass-produced boot but don't expect handmade boot quality or materials. The leather has kind of a suede look/feel to it which I'm not a huge fan of but that's subjective. Overall I would not buy these again.
The quality is excellent. The boots take a little time to break in, but once they do they are really comfortable. I wear a size 11 and they didn’t fit with the optional insoles. Without the insoles they are still really comfortable. These are great for work or wearing around town off the bike.
I have hundreds of shoes, and these boots are by far, the most comfortable boot I've ever put on - right out of the box. I went back and bought an extra pair in each color just in case they wear out and the resole process doesn't work out. I have never commented on packaging before, because it's normally irrelevant. However, I can easily confirm that the best boots come in the worst box ever. The box essentially disintegrated, and 1 pair came without a box. Forget the cost, buy the boots.
I pre-order those boots quite some time ago from Tobacco as I already use their gloves, jacket (Bandito), and flannel shirts. I genuinely like the brand for the overall quality, they never disappointed me. I was able to meet the Team twice and take pride in what they do and I highly respect that. The boots look great, they are comfortable after couple of uses (you need to break them in), I even wear those at work on occasion and they feel great. I like the way they look (ordered both colors but received 2 pairs of the Amber, not a big deal, I'll wait till the Matte Black in available in my size again). Overall I can easily recommend those boots, stylish yet durable. Great job Tobacco Team !!
These boots are awesome! Very comfortable and great for the motorcycle. I wear them daily. I have boots that are similar so I know they will patina and only get better with age! I highly recommend these to anyone and I’ll be buying the Amber color as soon as they are available!
